June Supper Club (Gluten Free)

Father's Day weekend, a feast for two fathers and a friend who can't have wheat.

Starter:
Falafel with Tahini Sauce

Taken from the lovely Best Recipes blog, this simple falafel recipe contains no breadcrumbs, therefore completely wheat-free, a delicious mixture of chickpeas, herbs and spices, served with a tangy tahini sauce.

Main:
Moroccan Chicken One Pot with Rice Salad

This is a fragrant Moroccan dish with a fruity sweetness. Recipe from October's BBC Good Food magazine. I nearly slipped up as I was going to serve couscous with it, but realised in time what couscous actually is. Close one! I served it with a rice salad instead.

Dessert:
Salted Caramel Cheesecake

Salted caramel seems to be the flavour of the moment, and I have been meaning to try it out for ages. This cheesecake is from the Sweet dessert cookbook by Levi Roots, he of Reggae Reggae sauce from Dragon's Den fame. It is made with gluten-free ginger snaps, so was a real treat as a pud for my friend who can't have wheat. A layer of biscuit, then a layer of salted caramel, with a cream cheese filling and topped with a sweet lime jelly. Delectable!
